Program Objective
The objective of the Opticianry Program is to train qualified opticians who can prepare prescription eyeglass lenses, all kinds of optical lenses, optical vision aids, eyeglass frames, protective glasses, and sunglasses in accordance with the prescriptions provided by ophthalmologists, and ensure their proper adaptation for individuals in need of visual aids.
Diploma and Title Awarded to Graduates
Graduates of the Opticianry Program are awarded an “Associate Degree Diploma.” According to the provisions of Law No. 5193 on Opticianry, graduates are entitled to work under the title of “Optician.”
Employment Opportunities for Graduates
In accordance with the provisions of Law No. 5193 on Opticianry, graduates of the Opticianry Program may establish their own opticianry institutions (optical stores) in any province or district under the title of “Optician.” They may also, if they wish, work as a responsible manager in private or corporate-owned optical stores, in line with the relevant provisions of the same law. Furthermore, they can be employed in factories or companies engaged in the production or importation of eyeglass lenses and frames.
